Cristina Trette, MA, lmft, PMH-C
Cristina "Crissie" first discovered her love of working with families when she was a teenager teaching children how to surf at Surf Diva Surf School in La Jolla, California. Later, she worked as a massage therapist and holistic health practitioner at a family focused chiropractic center. After her own children were born, she started a small parent education and coaching practice, which led her to graduate school, where her passion for couples and family therapy was ignited. Crissie holds a Master Degree in Marital and Family Therapy and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of San Diego. Her clinical experience includes offering services at Shakti Rising, a transformational recovery program for women overcoming addiction, trauma, and abuse. In addition she provided school-based therapy for children, adolescents, and families at High Tech High schools. Prior to opening her own therapy practice, Crissie spent two years working at the Soul of Yoga in Encinitas offering marriage and family therapy services, groups, and workshops. She is a certified Perinatal Mental Health Therapist with Postpartum Support International and an advocate for family mental health in the Encinitas community and beyond. Crissie is immersed in the training and application of Emotionally Focused Therapy and serves as Chair on the Board for the San Diego Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy. In addition to counseling, she loves to create community and facilitate relationship workshops. When she is not with clients or running the practice, you can find her in the water, at the bay, on the trail, or relaxing with her life partner and their five children.
