Greetings, I'm Cristina Trette. My passion lies in helping others create thriving relationships, joyful families, and vibrant mental health. I offer a range of services including therapy, intensives, workshops, and presentations, all with the ultimate goal of inspiring a love of self and others that flourishes. I specialize in therapy for couples, parents and families. Whether you want to renew your romantic relationship or seeking guidance during a family crisis, I am here for you.

In my work with couples, I guide partners to communicate and connect. I place great importance on addressing sexual concerns within couples therapy. Many couples seek my guidance during critical moments in their relationships. Their difficulties may arise upon the painful discovery of infidelity, a breach of trust, wanting a divorce, or after an extended period of conflict or tension. I am fully committed to assisting couples as they navigate these demanding circumstances. I see relationship challenges as a profound chance for healing, growth, and transformation.

In family therapy, I bring parents and children of all ages together. Many of the families I work with are navigating a family crisis; including divorce, substance use or mental illness recovery, or family turmoil after the death of a family member. I find deep fulfillment in supporting families to open communication and restore harmony.

As a mother, I am humbled and grateful to provide therapy to parents and coparents. My clients range from those expecting their first baby to parents launching adults. I assist parents to bolster mental health, and strengthen relationships, so they can be there for their children. I also guide parents to become a source of soothing and support for their children. Many of the parents I work with are raising children with sensitive nervous systems, ADHD, anxiety and depression.

I provide family therapy for those with young children as well as those with adult family members. Many of the families I work with are navigating a family dilemma of some kind. This includes divorce, family business disputes, substance use or mental illness recovery, or conflict after the loss of a family member. I find deep fulfillment in supporting families to open communication and restore harmony.

I have a particular interest in working with CEOs, business owners and entrepreneurs, as well as their spouses and families. I understand the high stress and pressure that arises within the psyche of high performers and appreciate providing a pathway to fulfillment in work, love and family.

My clients encompass those in traditional marriages, blended families and those with complex family dynamics. I also work with those practicing consensual non-monogamy and hold an accepting stance of all relationships and the various forms they may take.

My approach is characterized by warmth and is rooted in the healing power of emotional intelligence, attachment theory, and the nervous system. I am a directive therapist. I empower my clients to create the life they desire and spur them to take action towards lasting positive change. I support my clients to engage in deep emotional processing and provide practical tools that can be applied to everyday life.

My qualifications include a Master of Arts degree in Marital and Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, both earned from the University of San Diego. I have extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy and currently pursuing certification in the model. I have actively served on the Board for the San Diego Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy for six years. I have earned certifications in Perinatal Mental Health, Susie Walton's Joy of Parenting, and Robyn Gobbel's Being With Parent Course. Furthermore, I have successfully completed the Coparenting Specialist Certification offered by Mosten Guthrie. I bring a coaching edge into my work and have trained in multiple life and business coaching programs to better assist my clients in attaining forward movement.

Prior to opening Integrative Family Therapy practice, I worked as a therapist in diverse settings, including High Tech High, a trauma-informed treatment center, and a private practice located within The Soul of Yoga.

When I'm not working with clients you'll find me enjoying activities like jogging, hiking, yoga, surfing, and cherishing moments with my life partner and our children.
