Coaching for Parents and parenting Couples

At Integrative Family Therapy, we understand the multifaceted role of parenting. Whether you're navigating the stormy seas of toddler tantrums, the unpredictable challenges of teenage years, or seeking to instill a sense of security and calm in a child grappling with anxiety, our Parent Coaching services are designed to equip you with the skills and insights needed for the path ahead.

Why Choose Parent Coaching?

Parenting is not just about managing behaviors; it’s about understanding the emotional undercurrents that drive those behaviors. Our Parent Coaching, available for individual parents or couples, provides personalized guidance that helps you become the parent you aspire to be. Whether you're dealing with behavioral challenges, emotional dysregulation, or anxiety in your children, our expert coaches are here to support you.

Our Approach: Inspired by Expertise

Our Parent Coaching draws upon pioneering frameworks, including Robyn Gobbel's "Being With" program and Susie Walton's "Joy of Parenting." These approaches are not just about strategies; they are about transforming your parenting perspective and nurturing your relationship with your child through:

  • Understanding and Connection: Learn how to be emotionally present and attuned to your child’s needs, fostering a secure attachment that promotes healthy development.

  • Effective Communication: Enhance your communication skills to navigate and de-escalate challenging situations, encouraging a household atmosphere of respect and understanding.

  • Practical Strategies: Gain tools and techniques to address specific challenges such as tantrums, defiance, and anxiety, ensuring you feel more confident and capable in your parenting role.

Who Is Parent Coaching Not For?

While our Parent Coaching is comprehensive and adaptable to many parenting challenges, it may not be suitable for everyone. Specifically, our approach may not align with those seeking traditional behavior management plans centered solely on rewards and punishments. Our philosophy is rooted in fostering emotional connections and understanding the deeper needs below behaviors, rather than focusing on external control measures. If you are looking primarily for a strategy based on reward systems or punitive measures to manage your child's behavior, our methods might not meet your expectations. We encourage parents who are open to exploring relationship-based approaches to join us, as we delve into the dynamics of emotional regulation, secure attachment, and effective communication within the family.

Who Can Benefit?

Our Parent Coaching is ideal for any parent or parenting couple who feels overwhelmed, uncertain, or simply wishes to enhance their parenting skills. It is especially beneficial for parents of children and teens facing:

  • Behavioral challenges

  • Emotional dysregulation

  • Anxiety and stress-related issues
